What’s New Fall 2021

It’s almost that time again.

As we embark on our Fall 2021 season, we feel it’s important to remember how far we’ve come as an organization. The success of the past few seasons has truly been a testament to the dedication and character of our staff, and to the steadfast devotion of all our friends and golf course partners in the Gainesville community for supporting junior golf.

In order to provide the highest quality junior golf program at the lowest possible cost, we understand that it is our responsibility to constantly seek new and improved ways to enhance our instruction and provide an environment where our students are given every opportunity to grow and succeed.

Last season we were able to reach over 215 students, and we hope to continue growing the game this Fall.

As we have done in recent seasons, our Player Development Program will continue to be organized in sequential levels with the addition of a new fifth level – GJGA League – set to begin this Fall. GJGA League is a new 9-hole league for tournament players and students that have completed the first four levels. The focus of our Level 4 (Advanced) and Level 5 (GJGA League) classes is to prepare our students to play in junior tournaments and learn to compete against their peers.

Fall 2021 also means more classes at more locations.

In alignment with our “Grow the Game” initiative, we are offering a total of eight new Level 1 (Beginner) classes across five area locations: Gainesville Country Club, Ironwood, Mark Bostick, Turkey Creek and Juliette Falls. These classes will be taught across by the finest area PGA and Head Professionals, including Bob Geambazi, Scott Hampton, Lon Kinney, Eric Thomas and John Stevens, all of whom are returning members of our program.

Also included this Fall is a new and improved Pee Wee curriculum with a more intensive focus on games and applications, to be led by head coach Vicki Glass. As for Levels 2-5, you can expect significantly more on-course instruction as a part of their improved respective curriculums.

Finally, our next biggest announcement is we will be working with the Gainesville Junior Golf Tour to offer tournaments throughout Gainesville and Lake City beginning in summer 2022. We strive to continue to offer more skill levels to keep our kids progressing and learning all of the virtues that the game of golf has to offer.

We could not be any more excited to kick off our Fall season in September. Until then, hit ‘em straight!
