Student Profiles: Noah P.

When students come through our programs at the Gator Junior Golf Association, the goal is not only to improve their golf game but to enhance their character and develop critical life skills that they’ll take with them their whole lives.

So many of our students embrace this framework and continue to return to our program, creating lasting friendships and improving their skills each time.

For juniors like twelve-year-old Noah Perez, it even leads to taking initiative and becoming a leader in the program that gave him so much.

A seventh grader at Queen of Peace Catholic Academy, Noah started playing golf after his father introduced him to the game at the ripe age of five.

He joined our program three years later in 2015 and received his first formal golf training in our Beginner class.

After four years in our program, Noah became a volunteer this Fall and currently helps instruct the Sunday Pee-Wee class at Gainesville Country Club.

“As a volunteer,” he says, “it allows me to return to the program and share what I have learned to the kids who are new and just starting to play the sport.” He thoroughly enjoys seeing the kids improve and having fun on the course.

Noah’s favorite part of the game of golf is the opportunity to play with anyone, young or old, new or veteran in the sport. He’s played with his father, his father’s friends, uncles, and schoolmates in the time since he first picked up a club.

Seeing students grow and thrive through our programs are what we’re all about. It’s why we at the Gator Junior Golf Association do what we do, and seeing examples of success like Noah is what drives us to continue to improve.

Thanks for all your help, Noah! Keep driving it long and straight!
