Question 2: SOLUTION

Scenario:

You are chipping with little Johnny.  Johnny hits the ball with his chipping swing.  What are some examples of "open-ended" questions that you could ask him?

  1. What happened to your direction?
  2. What happened to your distance?
  3. What did you do well on that shot?
  4. What can we improve on for the next shot?

SOLUTION: These are all correct examples of open-ended questions to ask Johnny!  Referring back to the 2 main concepts of Distance/Direction would be a good place to start.  Some more thought-provoking questions would be 3 and 4, which will help the student think critically.  However, some students will draw a blank, and in that case we can help lead them to the answer we're looking for by following up with a guided question!
