Gainesville Country Club Transition
Another great summer has just about come to a close.
As we look back on a great past few months, we eagerly look ahead to our exciting future.
We are proud to introduce Gainesville Country Club as our third partnering location, and the new host to the majority of our programs when Fall classes begin on September 7th. The addition carries with it great advantages and newfound opportunities to expand our organization and reach more local youth through the game of golf.
Gainesville Country Club is the premier golf course in Alachua County, and one of the most beautiful in North Florida. Resident PGA Professionals Robert Geambazi and Greg Betz will join our teaching staff in the Fall, along with LPGA Professional Rica Tse, offering experienced and knowledgeable instruction from veterans in the field.
For the most part, the class levels and curriculum will remain the same. Pee-Wee will remain as the introductory course, followed by a slightly more advanced Beginner class that introduces golf and life skills, rules and etiquette, before moving up to Intermediate. The Playing level will now be divided into two different classes based on skill level, Playing 1 and Playing 2, but will continue to consist of on-course activities and competition.
The schedule will look noticeably different, however, due to the expansion.
Saturday classes will continue be taught at West End Golf Course all 10 weeks, the exception being our Playing 1 class, which will be the only Saturday program held at Gainesville Country Club. On Sundays, our programming will solely occur at Gainesville Country Club. Times have also slightly been modified and have been updated across our website.
Also new are our membership packages, which will be given to each student at the start of fall classes. In them will contain logoed merchandise along with a ball marker, rules book, and a hat.
Play-Days will continue in full force and more frequently, along with Parent-Child Scrambles, a family-favorite event. We will be holding these events at West End, Ironwood, Haile, and Gainesville Country Club.
With just over a month out from the start of Fall classes, things are beginning to heat up! All of us at the Gator Junior Golf Association thank you for your continued support of our programs and junior golf as a whole. We look forward to making this next season our best one yet!
